This past weekend was so beautiful, we were up at the cabin and the fall colors are amazing right now. We did some color tours, which did I mention the colors were incredible! And we took some family pictures, we don't get us all in the picture very often, and let me tell you it is a slight challenge with a camera timer, tri-pod and 9 month old!

Isn't this cute? I just love watching the two of them together...I am sure someday it will be more trouble than cute as they scheme against me in a plot to get all the 'toys' Chris will convince Skylar that they need!

Wanna be like Dad...

When we are at the cabin Chris gets pretty into his video games...his newest toy is a steering wheel controller with foot pedals and everything. Skylar crawled over and climbed in, I am sure she will be into cars and driving just like her daddy!

Skylar and Chelsea

Our niece Chelsea is so great with Skylar. We got to spend some time with her 2 weekends ago and she was a big help with Skylar while I was doing her sisters senior pictures!

So tired, just can't fight it anymore!

She was having a little drama queen moment, getting very upset because she couldn't crawl and drink from her bottle at the same time. I went into our bedroom mfor a moment and she stopped screaming, I came back out to see what she was up to ... just sleeping!

WOW, 9 MO. OLD ALREADY!

I really can't believe she is alreay 9 months, the time has gone by so quickly!! Skylar is doing fantastic. We had her 9 moo check up on Thursday and she is surely a peanut, she is 16.5 lbs and 28 inches, which puts her in the 20% for weight and 70% for height. She is right on track with all of her major motor skills (crawling, sitting, interest in pulling up, etc.) and she is a little ahead on her fine motor and verbalization. It is really cute her new thing is to point at things, she is so precise and accurate when she does and gets so serious too! She gets more and more fun by the day, she really loves to get into anything that she shouldn't, so she is starting to hear the word NO but doesn't quite understand yet, she just laughs when you say it, so we will continue to work on that:) I will post more pictures soon, sorry I haven't been so good, but life is keeping me VERY BUSY!!!

Guess What.....

...we are expecting our second child next spring! I am 6 weeks along so I have forever to go!!! The baby's due date is May 23, 2008. We are very excited to be adding to our family, Skylar is such an amazing little girl and such an incredible joy to our lives it will be wonderful for her to have a sibling (that will hopefully be as good as her!).
We will keep you all posted on how the pregnancy is going and all of the exciting milestones!

Chris has his own room!

Well Chris finally has a room of his own! HE has several mounts (deer heads) that he is always wanting to hang...I of course do not want a bunch of dead animals adorning my walls, so our compromise...they go to the cabin, but I still didn't really want them in the living room, so one of the guest rooms is where the deer have found their home. I got pretty creative (on Chris' suggestion) and painted (free hand) a camouflage pattern on one of the walls, with the other walls green. I am pretty impressed with my artistic talents, so here is the proof for all of you!

Helicopter, Flight Lesson #1...COMPLETED!

Well some of you may know and others may not but Chris has ALWAYS wanted to fly helicopters...so for his birthday this year I got him his initial training, which is just the first of many, but now the ball is rolling and he will start to build his hours and work towards all of his ratings which will ultimately be his commercial rating, but first things first, his private license.
He spent Tuesday August 28 in Detroit, he had 5 hours of ground training and 1 1/2 hours of flight time. As you can see from the picture the helicopter they train in is not huge and he said it was a little nerve racking when they would bank and there were no doors on the aircraft!!! He had a great time though and came home more excited than a kid in a candy store (I think he was more excited than Charlie when he got the Golden Ticket) :) SO as you can all imagine I have been given some BIG hints on Christmas gifts already...but I don't think I can fit a helicopter into a stocking:) so he may have to write to santa...

Happy (BELATED) 29th Birthday Chris!


Last Sunday (the 19th) we celebrated Chris' 29th birthday. We had a very nice day with a morning brunch with his Mom, Step-dad, Alisa (who turned 27), John & the kids, Uncle Scott & Aunt Kristine, and Eric at Timbers and then a fantastic dinner at his Dad's house!

Here are some pictures of the cousins...the first is of Michael (4 1/2 yrs.) Kailyn (19 mos.) MaKenna (2 weeks) & Skylar (7 1/2 mos) & the next picture is Mr.Michael with Skylar, it is so cute how much he loves her...he always wants his picture with her and wants to hold her, I am sure he will change his mind some day!!

They were so cute together, they just stared at each other and kept one another very content! Skylar shoved her thumb in Jayce's mouth and he was sucking on it, they held hand, and she was trying to suck or bite his head, what a great first date huh?
