....when you poo-poo in the tub!!! I don't think she minded the second bath, in fact she appears to be enjoying it more because Daddy has the cool squirt gun!

Messy eater

This was the first time I gave Skylar any kind of dip for her food. I had already made her dinner and decided on a quick quesedilla for myself (with some sour cream for dipping). Skylar likes to do everything that we do so she started gesturing that she wanted my dinner so I gave her a slice but that wasn't enough she wanted the dip too. I think the dip was a success, or at least enough so that it kept her busy while I finished eating:)

SHE'S WALKING

A little over a week ago Skylar decided it was time to walk...it was funny for a long time we've known that she could walk but would only do it on her own terms. (she's a little stubborn, wonder where that comes from?) The first day she did it she stood up in the middle of the room not holding on to anything then proceeded to walk across the room, I held my breathe because I did not want her to stop! Needless to say that was just the start she is now toddling all over. It is amazing to watch her skills get better each day. I need to try to capture it on video because she sometimes walks around waving her hands at her sides saying, "no, no, no"...a little warning to the dogs not to knock her over:)

Girls Weekend

Two weekends ago (yes I have been bad about updating) Haley, Meghan & Steph joined me a Caberfae for a mini girls weekend. They were all good sports and agreed to an afternoon of cross country skiing. We did about a 4 mile loop and they did great (most of the time). We did stop about half way in for a little wine and cheese break. After cross country skiing we lounged around the cabin just relaxing and enjoying the company:)
Thanks girls for making the trip north, it was great to spend some quiet time enjoying friends! You girls are welcome anytime, I would love to do it again in the future!!

Skylar got the Zebra for her birthday and loves she is on and off it herself all the time...sometimes she will slip when she is getting off then gets in zebra's face and yells at it, like the zebra made her fall!

OK so I did this because when I am with Sheri everyone is always telling me how much I look like my mom...this past weekend was another time where EVERYONE kept saying they could pick my mom out of a crowd (but they've never met my mom), and then they would point across the room to Sheri. SO I decided to test it out and see, according to this Sheri and I resemble each other more then her and Chris! So I guess the old saying is true...you'll marry someone like your mom:)

Playing dress up...

I had been folding laundry walked out of the room for a minute, I came back and Skylar was helping but instead of just throwing everything out of the basket she was trying to put everything on...the funniest thing was the socks, she tried over and over to put them on her head and after many failed attemps she decided to wrap them around her neck like a scarf...I think we will be getting some dress up clothes in the future

Syrup is so good...do you think they want me eating this, its to good to be true!

Skylar has been a fan of pancakes and waffles for quite some time, but she has always had them plain, I figured no reason to hop her up on sugar! But this weekend I gave in and let her have a little syrup on the cinnamon sugar french toast I made...she LOVED it! She at 2 whole pieces and then proceeded to yell at me when I handed a plate of french toast to Chris...

how cool is this pic, Chris captured this on his camera phone, way to go Chris! The snow at Caberfae was AMAZING on Saturday, they got 12 inches of fresh snow friday with an additional couple before daybreak on Saturday! Needless to say we had great skiing conditions, best in a long time...a blast of a weekend!!

Skylar's first time Cross Country Skiing

We got the back pack for Christmas (thanks Pop-Pop) and we have been dying to get out there and see what Skylar thought. She loves being in the pack inside and she loves to be outdoors, so we thought she would love to be out with us when we cross country ski. It was a success, she seemed to enjoy being out and she was bundled very well, so the cold was not a factor. The pack has a roof and windows so it keeps the elements out. It was so cute, every time we passed someone on the xc ski trail she would say "HI", it was very cute and she was pretty popular!

enough said, right? This wonderful sign hangs in the entry way at the cabin, my mom got it for me for my bday, she thought it fit:) It totally does, thanks Mom!!

Ty Ty & Sky

It is so awesome that we live so close to Chris' family because Skylar gets to grow up spending a lot of time with all her cousins and second cousins (and they are all so close in age)! Here is Skylar with cousin Tyler...Tyler is 10 months older than Sky, its so cute when we go to play, he walks around saying "Skylar down, play!" and Skylar is of course intrigued by Tyler!

A new cousin...

Last week Monday Cari & Ryan welcomed another precious little boy into this world, Sammuel Cole Martin, was born on Monday Jan. 28, 2008 weighing in at 8 lbs and 21 inches long. He is so cute! Of course I forgot my camera so I will put some pictures up after this weekend, hopefully I will see them then!
